山田流箏曲 『竹生島』Chikubushima (Part 1) について・・・
Yamada School koto music is centered on the vocalists and their presentation of the song and drama. The stories are often based on older Noh plays, as is Chikubushima. Outline: spring scene by Lake Biwa, commencing boat journey to the sacred island, description of the passengers including a woman, dialogue where the woman's presence is challenged ("sacred spaces off limits"), praise of the island's patron goddess, Benten-sama and her appearance accompanied by flowers raining from heaven, her wonderful powers praised.
