Link's Awakening DX - Key Cavern (TAS) について・・・

***READ BEFORE WATCHING*** --- Compared to the current run: Time saved so far: 1 minute 6.2 seconds Rerecord count so far: 89264 --- I don't have much to say about this section. The bulk of the improvements here came from better optimisation and nothing else. I got a more, better bomb boosts going to and from the castle and the way I killed some of the enemies in the castle (like the one who's behind the bombable wall) is new. I pick up an extra bomb in the castle. This is unnecessary. At the time that I TASed that part, the bomb route said that we had to get that bomb, but Tompa and I later found a way to skip it by altering the bomb route slightly. I'll hex edit this out later. The dungeon is full of little improvements - better manipulation, better use of the Pegasus Boots, etc. The boss battle is over 50 frames faster because I found a way to deliver the final hit without waiting for the boss to knock you off the ground / hurt you first. (I also found another improvement in the Tail Cave, which will also be hexable but will require a bit more redoing [until the first S&Q which occurs after the improvement]) --- Chances are, you'll be wondering what's going on in the dungeon after I get the Pegasus Boots. Well, if you charge up a dash while holding certain combinations of directional buttons, you can perform a "superdash". These only work in certain directions (it's impossible to go down/left using it). It can be seen several times throughout the dungeon, and will be seen a lot throughout the rest of the run. When I turn invisible, it's because I'm doing a superdash while having the sword equipped. This is just a side effect of it which made the last few rooms of the dungeon extremely difficult to optimise (I actually had to TAS them in the B&W version [where he doesn't turn invisible] then try to replicate it in the DX version based on frame numbers). Still, I think it looks pretty cool to see the boss beaten while invisible. --- Thanks once again to Tompa for reviewing my progress regularly and noticing a few frames here and there that I'd missed, and duksandfish for this excellent encode.
