和と洋のインプロバイザーグループ東方異聞・饗宴の舞 について・・・
注目のドラマー・堀越彰がプロデュースする和と洋のインプロバイザーグループ「東方異聞」。和楽器の尺八、笛、琵琶、洋楽器のドラム、ベースといった編成からスリリングな音楽が展開される。この映像は2009年1月30日に南青山マンダラで行なわれた「東方異聞」ライブから、オリジナル楽曲｢饗宴の舞｣。ゲストとしてピアニストの深町純が参加。Touhouibun(A Strange Story from the Far East), a group led by the noteworthy drummer Akira Horikochi, performs challenging music through which the contemporary musician seeks his own roots and also challenges the limit of each musical instrument. The group plays a range of instruments, namely, the satsuma biwa (lute) played by Kumiko Shuto, the shakuhachi, flute and nohkan played by Makoto Takei, the shakuhachi played by Akihito Obama, and WoodBass by Hiroshi Yoshino. They create unpredictable improvisation performances, and their motif is the traditional Japanese style of beauty. This movie is from the live at Minami-aoyama Mandala on Jan. 30 2009.
