Kojo no tsuki, for Big Friendly について・・・
"Kojo No Tsuki" (Moon Over Ruined Castle) was written by Taki Rentaro (1879-1901), and was inspired by the ruins of Okajyo Castle. I am dedicating my performance to the Big Friendly Jazz Orchestra of Takasago High School. I first heard the tune on an all-flute album recorded by Rahsaan Roland Kirk in 1965: I Talk with Spirits. He called it "Ruined Castles." I later heard it as "Japanese Folk Song," recorded by Thelonius Monk (1967) on Monk Straight, No Chaser.
