日本・中国・韓国の伝統楽器による史上初の管弦楽団「オーケストラ アジア」によるコンサートの映像です。
*＜琵琶協奏曲｢祗園精舎｣＞秋岸寛久作曲 *
日本の琵琶は雅楽とともに７～８世紀頃に中国から伝来しました。琵琶といえ
ば、日本では何といっても「平家物語」の琵琶法師の存在が欠かせません。「祗
園精舎」は平家物語の冒頭の句として特に有名です。この作品は、伝統を重んじ
た新しいレパートリーを開発しようと企画し、２００４年の「オーケストラアジ
ア韓国公演」(ソウル･世宗文化ホール)で初演されました。

The Japanese Instruments "Biwa" originate from China. The most famous
Biwa music is "The tale's of Heike",(played by Biwa Houshi), especially,
"Gion shoja" is well-known as prologue poem of the tale . This music
was composed to represent the new possibility of Japanese traditional
musical Instrument and the respect to the ancient tales. The world
premiere performance of this music was held in Sejong center, Seoul in
2004.
