The biggest revolution in F1 tyre regulations for a decade will be put under the spotlight for the first time at the seasons opening race in Melbourne (29th March 2009). With the aim of improving the spectacle of each race, the motor sport governing body (FIA) has allowed the reintroduction of slick tyres for the 2009 season. This will be the first time slick tyres will have been used in the sport since 1998.
