R-Type Final - Ship Showcase - Stage 6.2 with Eclipse - Bydo Difficulty について・・・

This is stage 6.2 - Anti Space - with the Eclipse on Bydo difficulty. Played on Score Attack. Read my Personal Note about why I played this stage on Bydo. About this ship: The R-Museum mentions that this ship was designed to test the effects of speed change on the pilot. You will see that when you change speeds, the shape of the ship changes a little bit. This ship is the precursor to the Orbital Fighter series, and all of them do the same thing. The Eclipse looks like a blue version of the RX Albatross, and even plays like a more powerful version of that ship. It uses the Tentacle Force, which functions like a giant shield while attached to the ship. The "wings" of the Force open and close dependent on horizontal movement, lending versatility. The red laser becomes more concentrated when closed and more diffuse when open. Blue changes its angles from straight ahead to wide open. Yellow is a short range pair of tentacle that whip open and closed with the Force. When the Force is detached it will home in on enemies while firing. This can do huge damage because the enemy isn't just being shot; the Force is touching right alongside them. The wave cannon is a three loop charge that fires an area of effect blast. At the third loop it has a slew of miniature explosions along the main detonation. Pros: + Tentacle Force is big when open and makes you very defensible. + Weapons are versatile because you can change concentration or fire angle by opening and closing the tentacles. + Wave cannon is area of effect, which is great for wiping out groups of smaller enemies. Cons: - When detached, care must be taken to throw the Force at the right enemy, as it will not always home in on the one you want it to otherwise. - The yellow weapon is extremely short range, and the blue weapon often does the same job easier with much better results. - Shock Wave Cannon is not as powerful as a dead on standard wave cannon shot. - Shock Wave Cannon can detonate on destructible enemy bullets. Ships in this series: Eclipse, Daedalus, Valkyrie, Garuda, Songoku, Kaguya Stage note: The Bydo Lab says straight out that the boss, Gridlock, created and preserves this dimension. Upon killing them you end up in F-C. Personal note: Why Bydo difficulty? Of the 57 ships I recorded from August to September 2011, only two were on Bydo difficulty. That's actually how I originally started out, before thinking that it was way too easy. I pushed the difficulty up to make it more challenging and exciting. This version of 6.2 is my first recording of this stage. It looked good to me, so I kept it. 6.2 for me is so difficult that I only recorded it twice - once with the Eclipse and then with the POW Armor (on R-Typer). The other stage I recorded on Bydo difficulty was F-B with the Metallic Dawn. That also was my first recording in that particular stage right at the beginning of this project. All of the other 55 ships were recorded on R-Typer. Bydo is Hard difficulty. R-Typer is Very Hard difficulty.
