Okay so True Administrator (the new final boss theme) has had a strange effect on me:
It's made me appreciate Cosmic Mind.
I'm not saying that True Administrator is bad--actually, I'm growing to like it a lot. Still not the best final boss theme, still not the best TD theme, but it's not bad.
But, just as Miko is somewhat a mirror of Byakuren, her theme is also a mirror of Byakuren's. While True Administrator seems more to emanate raw power, Cosmic Mind, as its Japanese title suggests, emanates raw emotion.
This arrange isn't the most emotional arrange of Cosmic Mind I've ever heard (jeez, I dunno where that award would go to), but it's no doubt emotional, with Hotaru's powerful yet soft vocals (she sang Halozy's arrange of Beloved Tomboyish Girl I've got on this channel) and the gentle synths.
